SAVE THE AFRICAN WOMB SETTING AND PLOT The novel centers on the need to do the right thing in any where one finds himself. The author enlighten young people on the need to always listen to their parents and avoid negative attitude that might leads to their destruction. The major protagonist of the novel Barakemi who becomes pregnant at a tender age was force by her parents to move to her grandmother's house. This is because Mr. Abraham who is a religious leader does not want the stigma that comes with the pregnancy. While Barakemi was at her grandmother's house, she was encouraged  by her grandmother to contact Joseph, the man responsible for her pregnancy. Joseph who is a lawyer came to Lagos where Barakemi was and reconcile with her. THEMES OF THE LEADER AND THE LED 1. Leadership crisis in Africa: The poem addresses the problem of leadership in Nigeria and the endless search for credible and transparent leaders. The poet metaphorically compared the animal kingdom to the Nigeria society. Just as the different animals don't trust one another, so also is the people in the Nigerian society. The lack of trust is caused as the result of religious and ethnic diversity among the people. This has greatly resulted to the lack of trust among the led and hence the cause of the division in the society. 2. Theme of disunity: This theme runs through out the poem and it is responsible for the underdevelopment not only in Africa but in Nigeria. In the poem, the poet uses allegory and metaphor of the lion to represent the political atmosphere of Nigeria. TO WHAT EXTENT CAN IT BE SAID THAT FRANCIS'S  LOVE FOR ADAH IS CONDITIONAL AND PARASITE? Francis is presented as a character who had no independent thinking, and he depends on others for suggestions. He is a male chauvinist, though he is educated in a very expensive school, his outlook on life was entirely African. He scolds Adah when she refused to cry for him,as he is set to leave for Europe. He lacks the wisdom to understand the strength and character of Adah. FRANCIS'S love for Adah is conditional and parasite this is because, he is vision less and dogmatic in nature.
